Does everyone still need that access?

A short access review can help keep business password sharing aligned with the jobs people actually do.

Access tends to accumulate as people help with projects, cover for colleagues or move into new roles. A permission that made sense six months ago may no longer be needed. Reviewing access is not a judgment about trust. It is a way to keep the organization’s shared information connected to current responsibilities.

Separate administration from everyday use

Keeper distinguishes roles, teams and administrative permissions. That gives a business different ways to organize policy and shared access. Before changing anything, identify who should use a record, who should edit it and who should manage the people allowed to reach it. Those are different responsibilities.

Review the work, then the permission

Ask the owner of a shared business resource which roles still need it. Check temporary access and former project participants. Avoid removing access blindly from a name you do not recognize; it may support a process owned by another department. Record the decision and the person authorized to approve it.

Remember what removal cannot do

Revoking access to a stored record does not erase a password someone already learned or copied. Where exposure matters, the underlying credential may need changing through an approved process. DeltaBind’s Managed Passwords service supports setup and guidance while the nominated client administrator handles routine access changes.

A practical next step

  • Identify the business owner of each important shared resource.

  • Review reader, editor and management needs separately.

  • Consider credential changes when access removal alone is insufficient.
