Is Windows Security enough for a business?

Compare built in Windows antivirus with managed computer protection, and learn which monitoring and response questions to ask.

Understand the protection Windows already provides.

Supported Windows devices include Windows Security with Microsoft Defender Antivirus. That is a real security capability, not a reason to assume a computer has no protection until another product is purchased. Available features and their working state still need to be checked.

An antivirus name on a device does not tell you whether every business computer is covered, whether updates are succeeding or whether anyone reviews alerts. Start by establishing what is installed and active. Keep existing protection in place while a qualified provider reviews a change.

Separate the software from the responsibility.

A managed service adds agreed responsibilities around the selected tools. Those may include deployment, coverage checks, monitoring, reporting and a defined response process. The useful comparison is the work being performed and the coverage provided, not just the logo on the computer.

Endpoint detection and response, often shortened to EDR, adds capabilities for investigating and responding to suspicious activity on devices. Managed detection and response, or MDR, describes a managed security function. Neither label by itself establishes general helpdesk hours or the scope of a specific contract.

Ask these questions before buying or replacing protection.

Describe your computers, business accounts, existing Microsoft licenses and current security provider. A suitable design can differ across Windows, Mac and mixed environments. Avoid paying for overlapping tools without an agreed reason.

  • Which supported computers are actually enrolled?
  • Who notices when a device stops reporting?
  • Who reviews alerts and who can authorize action?
  • What response is included, and during which hours?
  • How are findings reported to our business?
  • Which email, backup or account services are separate?

Remember what device protection does not replace.

Computer protection does not replace a plan for business email, account access or recovery copies. A harmful request can arrive through a legitimate account, and accidental deletion can happen without any malware. Different controls address different problems.

Keep updates, account permissions, multifactor authentication and backup coverage in the discussion. No tool guarantees that an incident cannot happen. A clear contact and response process is more useful than a broad claim that everything is protected.

Match the service to your actual setup.

Computer Care includes selected endpoint protection alongside supported maintenance, monitoring, technician remote support and monthly reporting. DeltaBind uses Guardz with managed SentinelOne or ThreatDown according to the client environment and supported configuration.

Email Care, Password Care and backup are separate services. Before changing providers or tools, we review existing coverage and agree on the handover. See Computer Care for the current price, optional services and support boundaries.
