Start with the right checks.

First establish the exact account address. A password reset helps only if it targets the account that owns your mail, files or subscription.

What to do next.

  1. Open Microsoft’s official sign in page and choose Forgot password for the intended account.

  2. Review the masked recovery options and select one you control.

  3. Enter the requested code directly in the Microsoft flow and create a unique replacement password.

  4. If no recovery option is available or recognized, use Microsoft’s sign in helper rather than guessing another person’s details.

Check the result.

Sign in to the intended service and check its recovery information. Keep the new password in your chosen secure password manager.

Stop and get help if…

The account identity is uncertain or recovery methods changed unexpectedly. Assistance can guide the process, but cannot bypass Microsoft’s ownership checks.
